How to use Tonkey
Everything you need to run a team treasury on TON, from the first deploy to everyday payments.
Before you start
Each signer needs their own TON wallet that supports TON Connect. Agree on who the signers are and on the threshold: the number of approvals an order needs.
The person who deploys the multisig or creates an order pays the network fees for that step, so keep a little GRAM in your personal wallet.
Create a multisig
- Open app.tonkey.site and connect your wallet.
- Choose to create a new multisig.
- Add the signer addresses. You can add up to 255 signers.
- Optionally add proposers: addresses that can create orders but not approve them.
- Set the threshold, for example 2 of 3.
- Review everything, then confirm the deploy in your wallet.
Once the deploy transaction lands, send GRAM, jettons or NFTs to the new multisig address like to any other wallet.
Invite signers and proposers
There is nothing to accept. Signers and proposers are part of the contract from the moment it is deployed.
Share the multisig address or its link with your co-signers. When they open Tonkey and connect their own wallet, they can open the multisig and start proposing or approving.
Create an order
An order is a list of actions the multisig will carry out once it has enough approvals.
- Open the multisig and start a new transfer.
- Pick the asset: GRAM, a jetton or an NFT.
- Enter the recipient and the amount, and a comment if you need one.
- Add more transfers to the same order to make a batch.
- Choose when the order expires.
- Review the order and sign it in your wallet.
The person who creates an order pays for creating it and for storing it on-chain.
Approve an order
Read every action before you approve: the recipient, the amount and any GRAM attached. Run the simulation to see what the order will do. If anything is unclear, or an action cannot be decoded, do not sign.
An approval cannot be taken back. When the number of approvals reaches the threshold, the order executes automatically. The execution is paid from the multisig balance, so keep it funded.
An order that is not fully approved before its expiration date can never execute. Create a new one if you still need it.
Change settings
Adding or removing signers or proposers, or changing the threshold, is itself an order. It needs the same number of approvals as a transfer.
When a settings change executes, every other pending order becomes unexecutable, even if it already has approvals. Recreate the orders you still need under the new settings.
Jettons and NFTs
A multisig can hold jettons and NFTs like any wallet. To deposit, send them to the multisig address.
To send them out, create an order and pick the jetton or NFT. Each jetton or NFT transfer carries a small amount of GRAM to pay for the message, which comes from the multisig balance.
Use Tonkey in Telegram
Tonkey also runs as a Telegram Mini App. Open it inside Telegram, connect a wallet over TON Connect, and you will find the same multisigs you use on the web, because they live on-chain.
Your address book and signer names are stored on each device. Use a backup to copy them between the browser and Telegram.
Backup and restore
Tonkey has no accounts. Your address book, signer names, multisig list and hidden tokens are kept only in your browser.
To move them, open Settings, then Backup & restore, and download a backup. On the other device, restore it from the same place. Wallet connections are never included, so reconnect your wallet afterwards.
Put your treasury under shared control
Create a multisig in a few minutes. You only need a TON wallet and the addresses of your co-signers.
